16 Spanish Words

This is more than just an example.
It's a complete trial lesson where you learn along in real time.

Follow the video closely and try to recall each translation yourself first. The more actively and attentively you participate, the stronger the learning effect.

By the end of this lesson, you'll have learned 16 Spanish words and word groups in about 16 minutes – exactly following the principle behind the Dikiwi app.
Why this structure works The brain learns more easily when new sentences build on building blocks it already knows.
Familiar Building Blocks

The vocabulary creates reliable reference points before complete sentences are added.

Sentences Become Easier

Familiar words take the load off your brain and make the next lesson much more accessible.

Patterns Are Learned Along the Way

Structures, connections, and language patterns get absorbed along the way.

So you're not just learning individual words – you're preparing your brain to understand whole sentences faster and retain them more reliably.

Worksheet preview: The document below is exactly the worksheet you can download and use directly with the Dikiwi app.

Page 1 contains the vocabulary for this lesson.
Page 2 contains the complete sentences from the following chapter.

Important: The order of the words on the worksheet doesn't match the order in the video.

If you use the Dikiwi app yourself, the words will appear in yet another order.

The Dikiwi app automatically shuffles the words during the learning process. This way you learn the meaning of each individual word instead of just memorizing a fixed order.

Show step-by-step video walkthrough

1. The first flashcard shows the word "it is looking".
2. You think for a moment whether you know the translation "Γ©l estΓ‘ mirando".
3. Tapping "Show Translation" reveals the back of the card.
4. The listen button lets you hear the pronunciation.
5. Next come the words "calm" (tranquilo) and "green" (verde) – steps 2 through 4 repeat.
6. Then you decide: "Yes, I knew it" or "No, learn again". In the video, we click "Yes, I knew it".
7. Stage 2 becomes active. The word moves on from Learn β†’ Practice (see the counter 1/5).
8. The new word "the leaves" (las hojas) comes up – the process repeats.
9. The word gradually moves on to the "Reinforce" stage (see the counter 1/7) – stage 3 becomes active.
10. This process repeats until all repetitions have been completed successfully.
11. At the end, the app counts how many words have really been learned (see the "learned" counter) – stage 4 becomes active.
12. After each word you've learned, a reward screen appears.
13. Only once words have reached stage 4 can they be tested.
14. Words that haven't reached stage 4 are considered not yet learned.

How to get the best results: Don't just watch. Try to recall each translation yourself before it's shown. The more actively you participate, the more words you'll retain.
